Van De Velde Packaging Group further enhances position in folding carton with Remmert Dekker Packaging acquisition

Wetteren, 25 October 2021 ‒ Van De Velde Packaging Group has reached an agreement for the acquisition of 100% of the share capital of Remmert Dekker Packaging, based in Wormer (the Netherlands). Through this acquisition, Van De Velde Packaging Group further expands its folding carton activities. Since 2017, Van De Velde Packaging Group acquired several folding carton companies in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany and Poland. Combining these complimentary enterprises into one strong organisation offers the group new opportunities to embrace the market shift toward folding carton packaging.

Van De Velde Packaging – Folding Board is the folding carton department within Van De Velde Packaging Group and currently has branches in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany and Poland. The folding carton packaging that is produced is mainly distributed throughout the food, drink and healthcare markets. Furthermore, Van De Velde Packaging produces solid carton packaging in its factories in Wetteren (Belgium) and Poznan (Poland), packaging machines in Eerbeek (the Netherlands) and combipack packaging at PackAlim in Saint-Germain-sur-Moine (France). In addition to the aforementioned countries, the group’s sales organisation also encompasses Spain, Portugal and the United Kingdom.

Van De Velde Packaging Group has approximately 750 employees and realises an annual turnover of approximately €150 million. The acquisition of Remmert Dekker Packaging adds another 80 employees and a turnover of approximately €15 million.

For Van De Velde Packaging the acquisition fits seamlessly into its ambition to grow into an important player in folding carton and the associated manufacture of packaging machines. The acquisition of Remmert Dekker Packaging strengthens the position of Van De Velde Packaging – Folding Board, particularly in the market for innovative folding carton packaging for the food industry.
